Through Ouroboros, the time in Cardano is divided into eras, which are further divided into slots, which are short time periods of about 20 seconds, and each slot has a designated leader. On the other hand, Cardano is written in Haskell, and there are very few developers around the world, and this is also one of the reasons for its slow development.

This can be a huge learning curve, and also to prevent the adoption of Cardano.
